東京のアシスタント時代から、女性の写真撮影には、深くかかわっていました。
職業としてのモデルの人たちは、その容姿はぬきんでていて、笑顔さえも訓練されていて、商品となりうる写真を撮影するには最適です。
一般の人たちはどうかというと、訓練された美しさはありませんが、自然さの笑顔は、プロのモデルを軽くしのぐ物を持っています。
そんな美しさを切り取ることが、僕の仕事だと自負しています。
自然に見えることは、なんて不自然なんだろう・・そんな歌詞のとおり、美しく写るということは、ある程度のテクニックが必要なんです。まるで料理のように、素材の魅力を十分に引き出す技は、奥の深いものがあります。
カメラマンというのは、そんな技と情熱を併せ持つべき職業だと思います。そしてアートワークスは、そんなSTUDIOです。
